Selecting data in Excel gives command to Excel that we want to perform some action on the selected area.
For formatting data, creating chart, creating pivot table, copy data, cut data, moving data, applying conditional formatting, taking print out and several other tasks can be performed in Excel only when we select a cell or range of cells.
