Which option is preferable in Excel? Using mouse or using keyboard?

Simple example is opening Data validation using mouse vs. using keyboard shortcut keys.
By using mouse, you need to take following four steps:
First position your palm on the mouse properly.
Drag the mouse on ‘Data’ tab in the ribbon.
Click on ‘Data’ tab in the ribbon
Finally, click on ‘Data Validation’ to open data validation dialog box.
You need to take only one step if you use the shortcut key Alt D L to open data validation dialog box.
Imagine, if you don’t know the shortcut keys for every feature in the ribbon, you need to take extra steps to access that feature in the ribbon. Consequently, you are taking more time than your colleague to do the same activity.
