At around 7:00 PM IST, Lalit Sharma and I met at the Hyatt Regency, one of New Delhi’s most esteemed five-star properties.
After clearing security, we found ourselves in a grand, tastefully adorned lobby. We explored Polo Lounge, the Hyatt Café, The China Kitchen, La Pizza, TK’s Oriental Grill, and Sidewalk, snapping some great shots with my new Sony digital camera. Hats off to the exceptionally courteous Hyatt team.
At 7:30 PM, we made our way to Aangan Restaurant, where a reserved table awaited us. Warm greetings from the impeccably attired and informed staff set the tone. Nestled just off the lobby foyer, Aangan is an award-winning Indian dining destination in Delhi, its décor and artifacts celebrating the heritage of Indraprastha and Hastinapur. The evening’s live entertainment added a delightful touch to our meal.
We began with vegetarian North Indian delights—hara bhara kebab—then enjoyed rice and paneer lababdar for our main course. Mr. Saurabh, our gracious server, happily took our photo with the live orchestra.
The evening wrapped up perfectly with the Hyatt’s exceptional service and Lalit Sharma by my side. Pressed for time, we skipped our customary coffee at the café and headed straight back to the office.
